I have found this mostly drafting/mechanical drawing vellum to work great as a fine art drawing surface because of the following reasons. The tooth is so strong allowing for multiple erasers without damaging the tooth like what happens with conventional pulp or cotton based papers. But best of all this vellum takes graphite so well, allowing one to make very strong and intense marks which results in quick linear and tonal build up. This is especially handy when doing the fleeting drawings when working from the figure.
