This is a real nice engineer scale and the graduations are deeply engraved to last a life time. It also comes in a hard plastic case to protect it. I wish Alvin Co. would make a 6" with the graduations engraved like this model. I will be getting the Architectural scale next because this is a great product at a great price that cant be beat ! You won't regret this purchase.
