Yes as I have stated before, this velum which is not necessarily made for fine art drawing is in fact a great freehand drawing surface. I use this for life drawing which requires at least for me lots of erasing, redrawing and quick tone manipulation, all which is easy with the durability of of Duralene. I especially appreciate how efficiently and cleanly you can erase line and tone from this ground.
