FANTASTIC. I was so happy to find DEW I have several drafting tables, and easels I'm a professional artist, teacher, draftsman. I have a table that belonged to my father-in law. He built it in the 1930s. He had the table set up with a wired straight edge but another member of my wife’s family destroyed it. I was able to set it as it was originally. I make furniture as a hobby and find the straight edge is great. I am very pleased. Great quality. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.

I have an older drawing board with a sliding straightedge. The wire was old and finally broke. I was happy to find a replacement. Although this wire is thicker than the original wire, it fit. I installed the wires exactly as the instructions suggested, crossing the two wires inside the parallel bar so they could end at opposite corners. However, the parallel bar is still somewhat sensitive to going out of parallel unless it is carefully pushed at the center of the bar.



Could it be that I do not have enough tension on the extension spring at the top of the drawing board?



The old, damaged wire that I replaced had vinyl insulation on it; could it be that the vinyl insulation allowed the bar to move up and down more smoothly?
