Straightedge Rewiring Kit

Purchased the kit to replace broken cable on parallel straight edge on older drafting table. Works great.

<p>The wiring kit is very good with one exception. I had to attach two very small ferrules that are part of the kit. However, I don't have a small crimper to do the job.</p>

She was really helpful when I called them. My order came quickly, and it is exactly what I needed. I called back in because I had a question about it and he told me exactly what I needed to do. I rewired my board, and it works great.

I installed the wires exactly as the instructions suggested, crossing the two wires inside the parallel bar so they could end at opposite corners. However, the parallel bar is still somewhat sensitive to going out of parallel unless it is carefully pushed at the center of the bar. Could it be that I do not have enough tension on the extension spring at the top of the drawing board? The old, damaged wire that I replaced had vinyl insulation on it; could it be that the vinyl insulation allowed the bar to move up and down more smoothly?

Wire worked very well.

After about 30 years, my Mayline parallel rule wire broke. Very happy to find a new one - glad not everyone has gone digital .

Great product & excellent service

I looked high and low for the right parts to fix my Mayline, and this was the only place I found them. The price was very reasonable too. As well, they offer many hand drafting items that us luddites still like to use, and it's nice to see someone still values the business. The only thing I would have added to the package are the small black knobs needed to loosen the parallel bar. But all in all, a great value.

For someone that still draws the old fashion way, it's good to know that someone still sells the parts that I need for my drafting board.

<p>I ordered this because the wiring on parallel bar on my drafting table broke. The wiring was for a Mayline straightedge that has been on that table for over 25 years and multiple moves (12). We removed all the wiring that was left and it took all of 10 minutes to rewire it. It works perfectly. I ordered it thinking it would be a few days before I would receive it but I got it the next day. </p> <p>I am very pleased with this company for their help in helping me with the order and their knowledge as to what I needed.</p>
