The Mat is exactly as described. Quick delivery. It does have a strong odor. I have been burning a candle to mask the odor which helps a lot. I’m grateful to find a mat that fits my cutting table.

<p>We have this mat and it works great. It does smell - like a skunk and we have it in a large room in a large building. We found that flipping it every week or so helps get rid of the smell. Ours has been damaged in a storm that took the roof off the building and then rained for a week so we are getting ready to purchase a replacement. The smell is the ONLY con we know of after using for a long time with multiple people cutting and sewing.</p>

The product arrived sooner than estimated! The mat quickly laid flat after being rolled up for shipping. It is exactly as advertised and works very well! It is a great price for a mat that size. The only issue is that there is a small crack in one side - it looks like the shipper slammed the package down at some point. Maybe extra padding on the ends of the shipping box would help. There is a slight odor for a week if the mat is put in a small room - smells like new carpet in my opinion. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the product and the seller!

The Alvin cutting mat is awesome and works better than the other mats I have from different manufacturers. It does have a bit of a smell that can be overwhelming at first and takes a week or two to get rid of. Overall, I am pleased with the Alvin 4x8 foot mat and would absolutely recommend for large tables. Best price I found was through DEW Drafting Supplies.

I love this mat, which is protecting a 4'x8' table in my sewing studio. The grid is great; would like to see the inch lines just a tad darker/thicker than they are. However, the odor is wreaking havoc with my asthma! It smells like a beauty salon on perm day, times 5! Any suggestions to help with that, or ideas on how long that odor will last? It is in a very large room but still chokes me. I think this will be an incredible asset to me if I survive the stench.

Exactly what I needed. The grid and angle lines are very helpful. My studio has never looked better.
