Portable Drafting Board with Alvin Paral-Liner

This board is so much better than the one with the wire that runs under the board. The bar stays straight and moves much smoother than the other. I wish I found this before I bought the other board.

I’m an architect of 30 years. I need to purchase a drafting board to do some hand drafting that I had not done in 20 years. All the products out there from Amazon and art supply stores are cheap drafting boards with parallel bars that are not level in are extremely difficult to operate. This is an old school drafting board with a dead on accurate parallel bar like the old days. The key is the stabilizing cables must be on top of the board and not underneath the board like all the newer boards available on Amazon, which are just total junk.

Love the board, it's exactly what I was looking for, but the parallel bar is worthless. It's bowed in the middle and my triangle slips behind the acrylic, rendering it essentially useless for drafting. I referred to the manufacturers' instructions and apparently it's a common issue. They offer a suggestion on how to fix it, but it hasn't worked for me. I ended up ordering a different parallel bar from a different manufacturer and I'm hoping it works. Otherwise, I'll just be using the board without the parallel bar and maybe try a t-square instead. Since the largest portion of the cost of this item is the parallel bar, it's probably not worth the price.

solid & effective drafting board. 9 out of 10. Came with some imperfections from shipping and handling but otherwise thumbs up.

This was actually the second table I ordered. The first one was through another company and it came with a horrible parallel bar. Literally an unusable parallel bar. This product is perfect. And if you know what you’re doing and have experience that drafting you’ll understand and appreciate this product.

The only issues I had was that there was red ink on the parallel bar. Fortunately I was able to remove it after a few attempts. A couple of the white corners were chipped. But, I decided not to make a dig deal out of it. Aside from that, I like the board.

LOVE this board. Excellent quality. And the vyco installation is perfect. I had smaller high quality board 25 years ago when I was in college, so I had an idea of what I was looking for this time around. This board is exactly what I was wanting/needing. So happy I splurged on the larger size since I do not need to travel around with this. If I had to travel with it I would get the smaller one, but for home office, this is PERFECT.
