Dew Drafting Supply provided a hard to find product at a good price.

Great find for any person still using a vintage Mayline parallel bar. Half the cost of the authentic Mayline wire you might find on Ebay. The best feature for me though, was including the plastic stedge stops that you anchor each end of the wire to. Those stops keep your neat, clean, and prevents fraying of the wire when you wrap it around just a wood screw like so many people end-up doing when the plastic stedge breaks.

I have an older drawing board with a sliding straightedge. The wire was old and finally broke. I was happy to find a replacement. Although this wire is thicker than the original wire, it fit. Since most drafting is done with a computer these days it was fine to find a company that sells old fashion drafting supplies. I live in Europe and there are no companies here that sell drafting supplies. It is a pity that DEW does not send to Europe. I had to have the product sent to my brother in the States and he then sent it to me. BUT I am so happy that I could get this set for my old parallel bar!

Wiring is too thin and is not coated. Does not glide well on roller wheels. Too fragile.

The wire I received was about half the diameter of my original wire that broke. It would have been nice if you could include directions for installing it. Fortunately I was able to find an old video on YouTube that showed how to install it. I got it installed and its working fine.

Couldn't be happier with the replacement cable. It arrived promptly and was easy to install. This sure was less expensive than upgrading my CAD software!

I have a table that belonged to my father-in law. He built it in the 1930s. He had the table set up with a wired straight edge but another member of my wife’s family destroyed it. I was able to set it as it was originally. I make furniture as a hobby and find the straight edge is great. I am very pleased. Great quality. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.

I used this product to restring my drawing board with its parallel bar. I am doing a major remodeling on my 3-flat and need to make drawings that show the dimensions for the new kitchen cabinets. It has been over 30 years since I've used this board and with this product I'm able to use it again.
